the sunburst earrings are back!

i decided to bring back the sunburst earrings, small little rounds that dangle from sterling silver earwires. in the original cheery citrine…

…in spring green peridot…

…and in a slightly larger size in rock crystal.

all are on the small side, measuring just over one inch in length. they’re light, so you can have tons of sparkle without the strain on your ears. i used petite sterling silver earwires to keep the focus on the sunburst. they ship free–and order by tuesday, may 3rd for mother’s day delivery.

here’s how i would pair them up without being too matchy-matchy:

my pretties

i went into l.a. this weekend for a few things, and left with quite a few unexpected finds that i just have to share–they’re just that beautiful.

iolite, peridot, carnelian, oh my!

pictures don’t do them justice, but i hope you can see the sun-drenched colors and micro facets, which throw off a ton of light and sparkle. i’m picturing earrings galore! and then there are these…

the many shades of aquamarine

…gorgeous aquamarine in luscious colors and my favorite cut: imperfectly perfect. this is a necklace that will show up soon in the shop!

so fun, i had to make three

oh gorgeousness.  these simple sterling silver victorian scrolls became swoon-worthy with the addition of a few dangly gemstones.  i started with rich red garnets and couldn’t stop!  so i made a second pair with spring green peridot and then a third with aqua apatite.  want a pair in your color?  i’d be happy to make another pair…just for you!  these will be up at my etsy store soon.

more branches!

when i saw this cast sterling silver branch, i knew i had to have it.  when it arrived in the mail, i spent a long time thinking about how to do it justice.  i wanted to highlight it’s delicate nature and organic form but i didn’t want to overwhelm it’s simple elegance.

so i decided to hang some wire-wrapped gemstones from the branch: a single rock crystal and three  peridot drops.  to bring out the beautiful green of the peridot, i added more wire-wrapped peridot to the sterling silver chain all the way around and i finished it with a sterling silver lobster clasp.

it’s available at my etsy store for $42 USD.

beachy keen

was it the rain?

i got inspired to make some tumbled beach glass jewelry over the weekend.  being somewhat allergic to matchy-matchy, i made each piece so that it stands on its own; they are united by the materials used, though.  get the whole set for just $100 USD at my etsy store–a $24 savings; like getting the earrings for just $4!–details at each listing, just click on any picture.

the necklace is made of tumbled sea glass and rock crystal, green peridot rounds, and sterling silver.  strung on nylon coated stainless steel wire for durability and a little shape.  it measures 17 inches long and is available at my etsy store for $58 USD.

the bracelet is also made of tumbled sea glass and rock crystal, but i’ve added green peridot drops and aqua blue apatite.  it’s finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp and measures just over 8 inches.  available at my etsy store for $38 USD.

the earrings are made with tumbled sea glass, rock crystal, peridot and apatite, all wire-wrapped with sterling silver wire onto sterling silver earwires.  they measure 1 and 1/2 inches long, including earwires and are available at my etsy store for $28 USD.

paisley power!

oooh, i love paisley!  i just learned that it’s supposed to be an artistic rendering of buddha’s hand, so that made it perfect that it had 7 spots–one for each of the major chakras.  so i added 7 gemstones, representative of each chakra: garnet, carnelian, citrine, peridot, apatite, iolite, moonstone.   each one is attached to the pendant with gunmetal wire.  the pendant dangles 2 inches from a gunmetal chain, measuring 19 inches in length.  finished with a gunmetal lobster clasp.

it’s available at my etsy store for $24 USD.  part of the new jalopy collection.

peridot swing

another iconic bare tree, this time in pewter.  i don’t know what it is with me and bare trees, but i just think they’re so cool.  i made this one for my urban prairie collection.

i felt like it needed a little something, so i added a tiny peridot to swing from the branches, wrapped with oxidized sterling silver wire.  in keeping with the simple, timeless theme, i knotted it on a thin black leather cord.  i wanted to keep it spare and classic.

it’s available at my etsy store for $26 USD.

and i’m still donating $5 to red cross for every item purchased from my etsy store!
